Some Quick Tips

No matter how long you have been a Christian for, 2 days or 20 years, I firmly believe these simple tips will help you if you don’t do them already:

1) Don’t doubt that God is God = Read the ‘Knitted Together’ devotions (February 29, 2008 and March 1, 2008) for a better understanding but to illustrate….There are 2 types of Christians, Cat Christians and Dog Christians. When you feed and pat a dog it is happy and thins “ Wow, you look after me and provide for me, you must be a God”. When you feed and look after a cat it thinks “ Wow, you look after me and provide for me, I must be a God” Are you living for God or do you expect God to just be there for you when, if and how you need Him ?

2) Read your bible every day = If you don’t realize it yet EVERY WORD OF THE BIBLE IS CRUCIALLY IMPORTANT !! We do not live by food and drink alone, our spiritual life requires spiritual food. Too many people starve themselves spiritually by eating tiny prayer snacks each day or when they feel the need. To flourish spiritually you MUST’ be transformed by the renewing of your mind’. You learn to’ lean not unto your own understanding but every word that comes from the mouth of God’ as you devour His words ( Jeremiah 15:16 )

3) Fast = fasting is a very underused tool in the Christian armory in my humble. We are called to be ‘spiritual beings’ but are forced to live in the flesh. By denying your flesh of the most basic needs and comforts you are making a statement “ MY SPIRITUAL LIFE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN MY WORLDLY ONE” You can live for up to 30 days without food and 3 days without water. Don’t be silly about it, fasting is a thing you have to build up to and get used to but if you have never done it, you should. Tell yourself and God that you will not be tricked by your ‘flesh’ Amen

These are just a few quick tips ,if they help or if you agree, please let me know. I will add more when I have time. GBU
